01Overview
A parasite is a Solana token whose market is quoted in another coin — the host — instead of SOL. A fixed share of every buy and sell is paid in the host and burned.
The more a parasite trades, the less host exists. Host holders get a reason to push the parasite; parasite holders get a coin with a story built in.
02Mechanism
- A parasite launches on a bonding curve paired with its host, e.g. $LEECH / $BONK.
- Buying the parasite means paying in the host; selling it returns the host.
- Each trade pays a 1.25% fee in the host: 1% is burned, 0.25% is the curve's protocol fee (Meteora).
- When the curve completes, the parasite migrates to a DEX pool against the same host and keeps feeding.
03Buying with SOL
You don't need to hold the host. Pay with SOL: the lab swaps SOL to the host through Jupiter and buys the parasite in the same transaction. Selling works the same way in reverse, if you want SOL back.
Every buy of a parasite is also a buy of its host.
04Burns
The burn share is collected in the host token and burned on-chain with the standard SPL burn instruction — the host's total supply goes down for good. Anyone can burn tokens they own; the host's creator is not involved.
Every burn transaction is public. The lab shows them next to each jar.
| Host market cap | Parasite volume | Host burned | Share of supply |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500K | $100K | $1K | 0.2% |
| $5M | $1M | $10K | 0.2% |
| $1B | $100K | $1K | 0.0001% |
05Hosts & checks
Any Solana coin can be a host once it passes six checks. The scanner on the Launch page runs them live against the chain and DexScreener.
| Check | Why |
|---|---|
| Mint authority renounced | Otherwise new supply can be printed and burns mean nothing. |
| Freeze authority renounced | Otherwise the host's creator could freeze the parasite's pool. |
| No risky Token-2022 extensions | Permanent delegate, transfer hooks, transfer fees, pausing and default-frozen accounts can drain or lock the pool. |
| Graduated to a DEX | Coins still on a launch curve are too thin to route through. |
| Liquidity ≥ $30K | Keeps slippage on the SOL ↔ host leg sane. |
| Age ≥ 1 hour | Filters out launch-minute rugs. |
Hosts that pass are sorted into two classes: Lab strains (market cap $100M+ and 90+ days old) and Wild specimens (everything else). Wild hosts show burns much more clearly — and move much more.
06Stages & rarity
Every parasite has a jar on the shelf. The jar grows by the dollar value of host it has burned; its label shows rarity by the share of host supply it has burned.
| Stage | Name | Host burned |
|---|---|---|
| I | Larva | < $1K |
| II | Juvenile | $1K – $10K |
| III | Colony | $10K – $100K |
| IV | Queen | $100K+ |
| Rarity | Share of host supply burned |
|---|---|
| Common | < 0.01% |
| Rare | ≥ 0.01% |
| Mutant | ≥ 0.1% |
| Legendary | ≥ 1% |
Stages and rarity are cosmetic. They carry no rewards.
07Launching
- Select a host — paste its full contract address.
- Scan it — all six checks must pass.
- Name your specimen — name, ticker, image.
- Launch — sign one transaction in your wallet. The jar appears on the shelf.
08Risks
- Double exposure. A parasite is priced in its host. If the host falls 80%, the parasite falls with it in dollars, on top of its own moves.
- Host failure. If the host is rugged or abandoned, its parasites lose their market.
- Thin liquidity. Fresh hosts and fresh parasites can have high slippage.
- Clones. Always check the full contract address of both the parasite and the host.
- Checks are not guarantees. The scanner reads the chain and public market data; it cannot see intent.
Tokens are volatile and can go to zero. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
09If something fails
Every error on the site says what happened and what to do. The common ones:
| You see | What it means · what to do |
|---|---|
| Not enough SOL | The wallet can't pay rent for new accounts and network fees. Launching needs ≈0.016 SOL; a buy needs the amount + ≈0.006 SOL; a sell ≈0.004 SOL. Top up the wallet and retry. |
| You cancelled the request | You pressed Reject in the wallet. Nothing was sent. Press the button again. |
| No Solana wallet found | Install Phantom or Solflare, refresh the page. |
| Wallet locked or disconnected | Unlock the wallet, press Connect wallet, retry. |
| Transaction expired | The wallet window stayed open too long (a transaction lives ≈1 minute). Retry and approve right away. |
| Not confirmed after 75 seconds | The network is congested. Open the Solscan link from the message and check if it went through before retrying, so you don't pay twice. |
| Price moved too much | Slippage protection cancelled the trade. Nothing was swapped. Retry, or use a smaller amount. |
| Jupiter can't find a route | The host has too little liquidity for this amount, or trading is paused. Try a different amount or later. |
| Half done | Buys and sells have two steps (SOL ⇄ host on Jupiter, host ⇄ parasite on the curve). If the second step fails, the host tokens stay in your wallet: retry, or swap them on jup.ag. |
| Step 2 of 2 failed (launch) | The curve settings were saved but the coin wasn't created. Press Launch again (≈0.006 SOL for new settings). |
| Can't use this host | The host failed a safety check; the message lists which one and why. Pick another host. |
| This address isn't a token | Paste the token's contract address (CA) from DexScreener or Solscan, not a wallet, pool or transaction. |
| Graduated | The curve filled up and the coin moved to a DEX. Trade it on jup.ag. |
| Can't reach the network / node overloaded | Check your connection, turn off VPN or ad blockers for this site, wait 30 seconds and retry. |
| Image too big / wrong type | Use PNG, JPG, WEBP or GIF under 2 MB. |
| Not on the shelf yet | A new pool can take a minute to become visible. It is added automatically the next time you open the shelf in the same browser. |
After a launch you get the contract address with a Copy button and links to GMGN, Solscan and the transaction. GMGN and DexScreener can take a few minutes to show a brand-new token.
